10-Day Cultural Experience to Tokyo and Osaka

Trip Agenda

Please find below the trip schedule. A detailed outline of day-to-day timings and flight times will be provided closer to the start of the trip. The scheduled program is optional and students are welcome to plan their own day trips or exploratoin. Likely we will do a day trip to Kyoto from Osaka, and a day trip to Mt Fuji from Tokyo.

12-day schedule:

Monday, June 15
  • Morning
    Departures From Tallinn (and/or other cities) to Osaka
Tuesday, June 16
  • Morning
    Arrival to Osaka, transfer to hotel, & check-in
  • Evening
    Exploration of Shinsekai district
Wednesday, June 17
  • Minami District - Beginning at the Namba area with time spent at Kuromon Market. Continuing with exploration of Dotonbori canal and streets, followed by Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Arcade and Amerikamura.
Thursday, June 18
  • Osaka Castle and Central Areas - Osaka Castle Park, including the castle grounds, moats, and gardens. The afternoon takes place in the Umeda district, covering underground malls, department store areas, and public plazas.
Friday, June 19
  • Historic Temples and Shrines - Shitennoji Temple grounds and outer precincts. The afternoon proceeds to Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine for its historic grounds and architecture.
Saturday, June 20
  • Morning
    Osaka hotel check-out
  • Shinkansen high-speed train transfer to Tokyo
  • Evening
    Arrival to Tokyo & hotel check-in.
  • Evening exploration
Sunday, June 21
  • Asakusa and Historic District - Senso-ji Temple grounds, including the main hall, outer precincts, and surrounding streets in Asakusa, continued with exploration of nearby traditional areas and the Sumida River vicinity.
Monday, June 22
  • Western Districts - The morning focuses on Meiji Jingu Shrine grounds and forest paths. The afternoon proceeds to Yoyogi Park, followed by Shibuya Crossing and the surrounding streets in Shibuya and Harajuku.
Tuesday, June 23
  • Central and Imperial Areas - Morning at the Imperial Palace East Gardens and outer palace grounds. The afternoon takes place in the Ginza district, covering main streets, public plazas, and window shopping areas.
Wednesday, June 24
  • Northern and Urban Parks - The morning occurs in Ueno Park, including the grounds, pond area, and temple/shrine sections. The afternoon includes Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden exterior views or public areas and time in the Shinjuku district streets and plazas.
Thursday, June 25
  • Morning
    Free time
  • Evening
    Late evening departure back to Europe
Friday, June 26
  • Morning
    Arrival back to Tallinn (and/or other cities)

€1890 payment can be made in full, or with 3 instalments of €1,100 (+ extra baggage if applicable), €500 and €290.
